Ryan D. Anderson has practiced Family Law since 2003, with a focus on high-net-worth divorces and complicated custody cases involving mental- and chemical-health issues. Ryan has been active in the Family Law community, serving as Treasurer of the Minnesota State Bar Association – Family Law Section since 2005 and on the Family Law institute Planning Committee since 2006. Since 2017, Ryan has been chosen to present a portion of the annual Eugene L. Kubes Caselaw Update at the Family Law Institute, specializing in spousal-maintenance updates since 2018. He looks forward to doing so again in the spring.

Ryan works hand-in-hand with each client to formulate an efficient, cost-effective approach to any contested issues. And while he understand the benefits of reaching agreements on all contested issues through Mediation or Early Neutral Evaluation, Ryan does not hesitate to litigate an issue when necessary, particularly when children fall into harm’s way or a client needs immediate financial support.

Ryan graduated from St. John’s University in 2000, with degrees in philosophy and Spanish. He graduated from New York University (NYU) School of Law in 2003. After getting a taste of big-firm life, he reveled as an associate in smaller offices, learning from two of the best mentors in Family Law and Litigation he could imagine. After fifteen successful years working for and with William L.H. Lubov, it became time to launch Anderson Family Law, LLC in June 2022.

Having grown up playing in the Bloomington Jefferson hockey and soccer programs, Ryan enjoys the ongoing opportunity to play and coach those sports. Away from his practice, Ryan also enjoys waterskiing, sailing, travelling, gardening, and, above all, spending time with his wife, Katie, and their two young daughters.
